Hello

This is Dad Pharmacist.

As if the incredibly sweltering summer never even existed,

it has suddenly turned cool and even a little chilly these days.

Perhaps because of the wide daily temperature swings, cold patients are slowly increasing.

Those with poor respiratory health quickly develop asthma symptoms

and end up undergoing respiratory treatment,,

Today, I'd like to cover 벤토린네뷸2.5mg and 풀미코트 레스퓰 분무용 현탁액, which are prescribed for respiratory treatment,

partly to organize my own thoughts, and share them in a post.

So shall we start today by going over asthma first?

1. What Is Bronchial Asthma

The bronchi inside the lungs repeatedly narrow,

causing symptoms of coughing, wheezing (whistling, hissing, and rattling breath sounds), and difficulty breathing

that appear repeatedly and in episodes — it is a chronic allergic respiratory disease.

Beyond this typical form of asthma,

there are cases where only a dry cough appears repeatedly,

cases where the patient complains of chest tightness or a sensation of chest pressure,

or cases where the only complaint is a feeling of phlegm stuck in the throat.

2. Causes

It is an allergic disease in which genetic and environmental factors interact in a complex manner.

Genetically predisposed allergic constitutions and asthma-triggering factors such as living environment and lifestyle habits interact with one another,

causing confusion in the immune system, which leads to the development of asthma.

The factors that trigger asthma include triggering factors and aggravating factors.

The triggering factors are called allergens,

and include house dust mites, pollen, mold, pet hair or dander, cockroaches, food, and medications.

Typical aggravating factors include

colds or flu, tobacco smoke and indoor pollution, air pollution,

food additives, physical activities such as exercise, climate change, yellow dust, and stress.

Since the allergens that each person reacts to differ,

it is advisable to identify your own allergens and eliminate or avoid them.

Also, since environmental factors encountered while growing up are just as important as genetic factors,

parents with certain allergies should also make efforts in environmental management to prevent their children from developing asthma.

Bronchial asthma (especially when other treatments with steroid therapy are insufficient or inappropriate)

Treatment of acute laryngotracheobronchitis (croup) in infants and children

Dosage and Administration

An increase in the use of β₂ agonists may be a sign of worsening asthma. In such cases, the patient's treatment plan must be re-evaluated and concomitant administration of glucocorticosteroids should be considered.
This medication must be administered under the direction of a physician using an appropriate inhaler or nebulizer (Nebulizer), and must not be taken orally or injected.
This medication can be administered as part of inhalation therapy or in patients requiring assisted ventilation until bronchodilation is achieved. Although there is a wide safety margin between therapeutic effects and adverse reactions, intermittent dosing at an appropriate amount is recommended as there is a possibility of accumulation in the body associated with continuous administration. Since transient hypoxemia may occur, supplemental oxygen therapy should be considered.

1. Adults
Inhale 5.0mg as salbutamol at intervals of every 4 to 6 hours as needed, and discard any residual solution after administration.
For some patients who require higher doses, up to 10mg as salbutamol may be administered.

2. Children aged 4 to 12 years
Inhale 2.5mg as salbutamol at intervals of every 4 to 6 hours as needed, and discard any residual solution after administration.
For some children who require higher doses, up to 5mg as salbutamol may be administered.

3. Elderly
The initial dose of this medication in the elderly should be lower than the recommended adult dose, and if the bronchial effect is not sufficient, the dose should be increased in a stepwise manner.

4. Patients with hepatic impairment
Approximately 60% of orally administered salbutamol (including not only tablets and syrups but also approximately 90% of the inhaled dose) is metabolized to an inactive form, so unchanged salbutamol may accumulate in patients with hepatic impairment.

5. Patients with renal impairment
Approximately 60 to 70% of inhaled or intravenously administered salbutamol is excreted in the urine in unchanged form.
A dose reduction may be necessary in patients with renal impairment to prevent maximizing or prolonging the efficacy.

This medication must be administered using an appropriate nebulizer. The dose reaching the patient is approximately 40~60% of the labeled dose, and this varies depending on the nebulizer used. Nebulization time and dose vary depending on flow rate, the nebulizer chamber, and fill volume; the appropriate fill volume for most nebulizers is 2~4 milliliters.

1. Bronchial Asthma
1) The dosage regimen when initiating inhaled therapy, during periods of severe asthma, or when reducing or discontinuing oral corticosteroids is as follows:
① Adults: 1 dose of 1~2mg (2 vials~4 vials), administered 2 times per 1 day
② Children: 1 dose of 0.5~1mg (1 vial~2 vials), administered 2 times per 1 day
2) The maintenance dose varies by individual and should be administered at the lowest possible dose.
The recommended maintenance doses are as follows:
① Adults: 1 dose of 0.5~1mg (1 vial~2 vials), administered 2 times per 1 day
② Children: 1 dose of 0.25~0.5mg (1/2 vial~1 vial), administered 2 times per 1 day
3) For patients wishing to enhance therapeutic effect, increasing the dose of this medication is generally more desirable than combination therapy with oral corticosteroids, as it carries a lower risk of systemic side effects. In particular, when there is no mucus secretion in the airways, it is preferable to administer this medication before administering oral corticosteroids.

2. Acute Laryngotracheobronchitis
In young children, administer 1 dose of 2mg, 1 time per 1 day.

부데코트흡입액 (대한약품공업)

For those viewing on mobile, you can see the organized table by switching to the PC version at the bottom of the page. 🙂

It seems like everything has been roughly summarized above,,

To briefly explain,

벤토린네뷸2.5mg is a medication that dilates the bronchi to ease breathing.

It is used for relief of acute asthma attack symptoms and treatment of chronic bronchospasm.

Inhale every 4~6 hours as needed, and discard any remaining liquid.

Side effects include increased heart rate, hypertension, tachycardia, and similar symptoms,

and if such symptoms appear, discontinue use and consult a doctor.

풀미코트 레스퓰 분무용 현탁액 is

a steroid medication that suppresses bronchial inflammatory responses.

It is used for bronchial asthma treatment and acute laryngotracheobronchitis.

Inhale using a nebulizer; normally use 1~2 vials per 1 dose, 2 times per 1 day.

Symptoms such as oropharyngeal candidiasis, mild throat irritation, cough, and hoarseness may occur.

It is helpful to rinse the mouth and face well with water immediately after use.

If gargling is not possible, have them swallow water at least; if swallowing water is also not possible, wipe the mouth with a water-dampened gauze cloth. 🙂

Both products involve respiratory treatment using an appropriate inhaler or nebulizer (Nebulizer, 네뷸라이져).

벤토린네뷸2.5mg has 벤토린네뷸5mg (discontinued), 벤토린에보할러, 벤토린흡입액

풀미코트 레스퓰 분무용 현탁액 has 풀미코트 터부헬러

as similarly named products, and it is important to distinguish between them.

4. Nutritional Therapy

For general asthma and bronchitis symptoms, medication is taken,

and using the above products for respiratory treatment will relieve symptoms.

However, in cases where one suffers from chronic respiratory disease,

or in cases where one develops respiratory illness every change of season,

I would like to recommend trying nutritional therapy.

As mentioned above,

Respiratory asthma is often caused by allergies and immune imbalances.

For cases like this, I would like to recommend the following products to take.

<이뮤골드액>

It is a high-potency herbal immune booster containing Echinacea extract.

The existing Echinacea extract product was called "림포란", but it has now been discontinued,

and this is a drinkable ampoule-type product worth considering as an alternative.

In Europe and North America, it is an ingredient used as a natural cold remedy,

and in Korea, it is a product that can be safely taken as an over-the-counter medicine.

<장생천과립/장생천키즈시럽>

You all know that balloon flower root (doraji) is good for the bronchi, right?

Among bellflower roots, this product contains Jangsaeng (long-life) bellflower root that is at least 22 years old.

Indeed, it's 약사와 건강, which uses the finest ingredients. 🙂

Propolis

There are many propolis products available on the market.

The propolis I would especially like to recommend is

프로디펜즈.

It is a product from 케이팜 (KPN, 케이피엔), the company behind 락토500,

green propolis produced in a clean region of Brazil,

combined with zinc.

It is not ordinary green propolis, but a Super Extra grade propolis containing Artepillin-C,

and the zinc is not zinc oxide but zinc gluconate, which has better absorption.

It also contains a 3-times concentrated royal jelly extract as a sub-ingredient.

Immune Boosters

Immune boosters were mentioned in a previous post.

[Product Introduction] Immune Boosters – 셀로맥스 베타글루칸 포르테 vs 암스트롱 GPGA vs 바이오베… Hello, this is Dad Pharmacist. Today I would like to introduce some products that are good for immunity. The content is a bit difficult… blog.naver.com

Just like propolis,

it works by boosting immunity to build resistance against allergic rhinitis, bronchitis, and the like.

There are many other nutritional therapies as well,

but it is best to decide through consultation according to your own physical condition. 🙂
