Which gum disease treatment should you take? (Feat. 인사돌 vs 이가탄)

Today I'd like to write a post about gum disease treatments.

Is 인사돌 better? Or is 이가탄 better?

It's a question I often hear while working at the pharmacy.

What 인사돌 and 이가탄 are,

when it's good to take them,

and what other gum medications are available — that's what I'd like to explore.

First of all, let's go over periodontal disease before we begin.

Periodontal disease is commonly referred to as gum disease,

It is classified into gingivitis and periodontitis depending on the severity.

Gingivitis refers to a relatively mild and quickly recoverable form of periodontal disease, one that is confined only to the gums (soft tissue),

and when such inflammation has progressed to the area around the gums and the alveolar bone, it is called periodontitis.

That's a bit hard to follow, isn't it?

To explain it a little more simply,,

The gingiva is the tissue that covers the bone surrounding the teeth, and is the part commonly referred to as the gums.

So gingivitis can be understood as essentially gum inflammation.

Periodontitis can be understood as inflammation that has spread to the deeper parts of the tooth (the alveolar bone)^^

The cause of periodontal disease begins with plaque (Plaque).

Plaque (Plaque), the bacterial film that forms on teeth,

if not removed, hardens and becomes tartar,

and as plaque and tartar cause gaps to form between the teeth and gums,

inflammation develops in these gaps, progressing into periodontal disease.

If periodontitis is left untreated, the alveolar bone is destroyed,

the teeth become loose, and this can eventually lead to tooth loss.

It is important to treat it early, isn't it?^^

 

Poor brushing habits, nutritional deficiency, hormonal imbalances such as those during pregnancy and menstruation,

and smoking, among other factors, can worsen periodontal disease,

so in addition to dental treatment, it is good to develop lifestyle habits that remove tartar^^

With this level of basic understanding in mind,

let's check and compare what products 인사돌 and 이가탄 are.

<인사돌>

The main ingredient of 인사돌 is unsaponifiable fraction of corn (quantified extract).

Please be aware that this differs from the corn silk extract powder listed in some products,

This unsaponifiable fraction of corn (quantified extract) is a phytosterol

It is listed as beta-sitosterol, and

it has the following effects.

Periodontal ligament regeneration: the fibers of the periodontal ligament between the tooth and the alveolar bone are restored, preventing tooth loosening

Alveolar bone formation promotion: hardens soft and deteriorating alveolar bone to help it support the gums

Epithelial cell normalization: resolves inflammation occurring around the gums and teeth

Additionally, the magnolia bark extract in 인사돌 플러스

is said to be able to add antibacterial effects against periodontopathic bacteria that cause gum disease, as well as anti-inflammatory action.

<이가탄>

​

이가탄 is a compound lysozyme preparation.

It is composed of 4 main active ingredients,

and the efficacy and effects of each are as follows.

 

Lysozyme hydrochloride: prevention of swelling, anti-inflammatory action, and regeneration of inflamed tissue

Carbazochrome: vasoconstriction and hemostatic action

Coated ascorbic acid (ascorbic acid, Vitamin C): collagen formation, hemostatic action

Tocopherol acetate (Vitamin E): antioxidant action and tissue strengthening

The officially approved efficacy and effects (indications) of the two products are the same,

but their ingredients differ.

Gingivitis (gum inflammation) after periodontal (tissue surrounding the teeth) treatment

Adjunctive treatment of mild to moderate periodontitis (inflammation of the tissue surrounding the teeth)

Which type of person would benefit from taking each product?

First, the 인사돌 preparation, which is an unsaponifiable quantitative extract of corn,

is composed of ingredients that promote alveolar bone formation and regenerate the periodontal ligament,

those whose gums have weakened, causing teeth to feel loose or wobble

periodontitis requiring fundamental treatment

maintenance therapy after orthodontic treatment

gum care for those wearing dentures (false teeth)

Long-term use is recommended^^

And the 이가탄 preparation, which contains compound lysozyme,

is mainly composed of compound ingredients with hemostatic action,

those with gingivitis, the early stage of gum disease

those who want to see short-term effects on swollen and bleeding gums

those who have started orthodontic treatment and have gum damage

In particular, the compound lysozyme preparation can be taken by pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers,

Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers whose gums are swollen and bleeding due to hormonal influences can also take it. ^^

eat a balanced diet and brush your teeth thoroughly at least 2 times per day,

and use dental floss or interdental brushes to keep the spaces between your teeth clean.

It is also a good idea to regularly use an antibacterial mouthwash for disinfection.

Since scaling became covered under national health insurance starting from month 7 of year 13,

it is good to get scaling done regularly at least once every 1 year.
